The “HAIR TODAY, ART TOMORROW” Project
“Do not touch my hair” : Black women all over the world have complex relationships with their hair. Having to manipulate it for the workplace, fearing it’s too short, slathering it in products to make it back length long. This series is a collection of images showing Black women that hair regardless of its texture or length or style they should embrace the crown of curls, because In curls and kinks, a story is told. Each strand unique, a sight to behold. Let your natural hair steal the show.
From tight afros to loose waves that sway,
Every texture shines in its own special way.
No length too short, no length too long,
Your natural hair, a beautiful song.
Celebrate the volume, the bounce, the flair,
For your hair is a crown beyond compare
For your natural hair deserves love and care. In its texture and length, find joy and grace. Embrace your crown, let it frame your face.
